Ahhh…Desire! So many people in MLM have it, but what is it exactly?
Here’s what I find at Dictionary.com – “…a longing or craving, as for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment.”
O.k., that works as a good definition for me.
But how does it apply to network marketing?
How about this “To Join My Team, You MUST have a burning desire to succeed NO MATTER WHAT.”
Does that sound familiar?
Well when anyone joins a network marketing company, they think they “have the burning desire to succeed no matter what,” but when it comes down to it, along the way they forget the “no matter what” portion. The new flavor and the excitement dies off, and they end up thinking that their desire alone will carry them through to the promised land of residual income, or they just quit.
I’ve seen it happen time and time again in my previous MLM companies. It’s just part of the territory, especially those that are in a typical MLM setup where you prospect your family and friends, build your list of 100, and drool over any prospect who makes eye contact with you.
Now, prospecting that way is an entire problem in itself, and I’ll address at a later time. What I really want to focus on are those that still have that desire trying to carry them through.
Those that have lost their “no matter what” mentality.
When you have a mix of Desire + No Matter What, you have an EXPLOSIVE combination on your hands. You have someone who will stop at nothing to reach their goals.
That is the real formula for success. That is the belief that will carry someone through to the end.
The “No Matter What” is what will drive you physically and mentally to succeed.
It is being constant and consistent in your marketing.
It is doing the little bit extra that your competition isn’t willing to do.
It is setting a schedule and planning your marketing resources, and having a daily method of operation (DMO), and following through with them on a consistent basis.
It truly is a 2 part formula! It is the Desire + Being Constantly Consistent with all that you do.
Those are the types of people that I seek out. Those are the types of people I desire to network with. Those are the types of people that the top income earners seek out as well.
By what I place on my websites and applications, I am able to weed out those that are NOT constantly consistent. I know that those that follow through with the application processes or the instructions on my lead generation sites are the ones that have that desire and no matter what attitude. And THOSE are the people I want to work with.
Frankly, my time is very valuable. I just can’t work with every one that just has Desire. My wife and my children are far too important to me, so I only have time for those that posess the Desire and No Matter What attitude.
So… I make prospects jump through a few hoops. I have to separate the wanna-be’s, the tire kickers, and those “opportunity seekers” who simply don’t possess the mindset, perseverance and desire to build a successful internet business.
I will ONLY give my time to serious entrepreneurs who can commit to these criteria. (Guess what number 1 is?)
1. You MUST have a burning Desire to succeed NO MATTER WHAT!
2. You MUST be willing to shift your frame of thinking to step out of your comfort zone, and be prepared to do Whatever It Takes to reach your goal.
3. You MUST be willing to commit to regular and consistent personal development to strengthen your mind and spirit. You get to select what those exercises are, but you MUST do them.
4. You MUST be willing to invest a minimum of 12 months to our training and business plan.
If leads are not willing to commit to these 4 basic requirements, then I simply ask them to close the webpage and not to spend any more money on any internet based business. They’re just wasting their time and money.
Ask yourself, who would you rather work with? Someone with just desire, or someone with Desire AND a No Matter What attitude?
When you start marketing with that in mind, you will find a significant increase in successful members.
