Back on November 4th, I made a post titled “Do You Know The #1 Product On The Internet Today?” where I went into detail about how people are really looking for one thing on the internet when it comes to training. And that #1 thing is “INFORMATION.”
As attraction marketing strategists, when we are able to accurately and appropriately provide that information that people are seeking, we are the ones who win out because we look like the lone piece of chocolate cake in front of 50 fat kids. Everyone wants us and craves to be with us.
Then, just last week I was playing catch up on some reading I have been meaning to do, when I came across Mike Dillards September issue of “The Inner Circle” newsletter. Yes, I know…2 months backlog is sad, but it happened.
The headline read, “The Most Valuable Commodity On The Planet…(To A Marketer).” And I thought to myself. “O.K., that’s weird. I just posted a blog about this 2 weeks ago, and here I stumble on an article from Dillard that was written back in September, but I never got a chance to read it until last week. HA! I’m just as smart as Mike Dillard cause we wrote about the same thing!”
But then I read further…
Mike writes that “ATTENTION is the most precious commodity in the world today.” “…it’s the one thing you must have before anything else can happen. If you don’t have someone’s attention, you can’t turn them into a lead, you can’t have a conversation, you can’t develop a relationship, and you can’t sell them anything.”
O.k., so we actually didn’t write about the same thing, but we were close. And I think that both actually go hand in hand.
Go back to Mike’s most famous course and manual, “Magnetic Sponsoring”. He talks about “Beta’s”, “Pre-alphas”, and “Alphas” (If you don’t know what those are, click the link above, spend $39, and learn what Attraction marketing is all about for God’s sake! ).
Anyways, Beta’s are concerned with getting the attention of prospects. Pre-alphas have realized that once you get someones attention, you need to keep it. While Alpha’s not only get someones attention, and keep it. But they are now concerned with protecting it from outside influences and distractions.
So, this is where my part of the equation comes into play.
The “Information” that I talked about earlier is two fold. 1) It can bring you the attention of other network marketers who see you as someone of value to them ( as long as that information is valuable and full of content). 2) It can be what helps you maintain the attention of others once you’ve gained their trust, and they have joined your personal business team.
Getting and keeping someones attention is hard to do at times. BUT, with the right information that helps solve someone else’s problem, that provides a source of value to them, and that is appropriate content, you WILL keep their attention. They will will see you as the Alpha. As that person who will help them reach their goals.
It isn’t easy to do, but if you’re going to have success with your list and your personal teams, you will have to keep their ATTENTION. And with the appropriate INFORMATION, you will be able to defend against “foreign” invaders who will try their best to steal it.
When you provide the right information, you garner their attention, and provide them with the third part of the equation – FOCUS. Focus to help them build their teams. Helping them Focus on their goals and on one strategy to build their business. Too many options will cause confusion and then drop-out.
Choose one strategy, one system, one tool, and make sure they are the best that you have available to you so you can provide the best to them.
The right information and attention will help make that focus to happen. It will keep them on track to reach their goals. This is so very important in building momentum and creating that always-valuable duplication.
Remember this: INFORMATION + ATTENTION = SALES
Mike posed these questions at the end of his article to help each of us to continue to develop our business. And I obviously think they are worthy of passing on to you.
1. “How can I get the attention of more people?”
2. “How can I keep their attention for years?”
3. How can I protect their attention from “foreign” invaders and unnecessary distractions?
These are some questions I think we should all be asking ourselves in our own home offices and businesses!
Leaving No Network marketer behind,

I love Mike Dillard and what he stands for. He is truly a pioneer in this industry, and if you think like he does then that makes you pretty smart!!!
Thanks for the information, you are a great leader!
Peace…
Kathy
