The sheer amount of networking that I was able to do in this first day was INSANE.

I got the chance to meet people I’ve gotten to know on Facebook, or I’m following their blogs, or keep track of their videos.

I’ve gotten to network with people that are already 7 figure earners, because I chose to come to this event.  How powerful is that for branding?

And out of all of the people I’ve networked with, who knows which connection today will lead to a future partnership that has the potential to lead to hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

And believe me when I say this…I have already made 2 million dollar connections here in Vegas that have the potential to entirely change the face of how my marketing is done today.

So do you think that it’s possible that if you were here as well, that you might be able to network, build some new relationships, and strike out into a new territory that you have only dreamed of in the past?

That is why live events are so important!


But…

…I’ll be honest.  Not up until early this year, had I looked at the importance of live events, and training, and increasing my own value.

I didn’t realize that at all until just right before the New Year 2010.

It was then that I made a commitment to change not only my life, but the life of others as well.

And the easiest way to do that is to learn, train, soak in information, and network with people so that I can increase my own value to turn and give it to others.

And what a potential  wealth earning decision it was!

Over the last few months, MLSP has been holding daily wake-up calls, all of which are high value, high motivation calls.

Well earlier this week there was one call that struck me as profound – and for a lot of reasons really.

But the reason I mention it here is that if you “get it” with this concept, you too can find immediate MLM success.

Because what I’m about to show you really gets down to the core of network marketing and how successful you are yourself.

So here’s what I took away from the call that was hosted by Jim Chao.


My Take Away

Lately Jim’s been thinking about the success stories we hear on the internet and how so many people are overnight successes.

But why is it that some struggle forever with nothing to show for it?

Most of the leaders have these incredible stories, but what are those stories?

Norbert Orlewicz sponsored 6 people in his first 6 years in this industry.  Then he went on the internet and made 20K+ within his 1st 6 mos.

Jim Chao, himself, was in for 3.5 years… without many results. Even though he worked so hard for 3.5 years it was in his 1st 90 days of internet marketing when he made his first 10K+ month.


So What Were They Doing Different?

Jim will be the first to tell you that even though he didn’t make any money in the beginning, he was doing all the grunt work necessary.

He was going to the live events, soaking in all the training available, and he was building his foundation.

He was internalize what he was learning, hearing, reading, and turning it into his own.

Yes,  part of the formula is about driving massive amounts of traffic to your website but if you completely skip over your own self development, you’re missing the majority of the possibilities for success.

So once your traffic goes into your sales funnel that’s where your value and training comes into play. You have to build your leadership skills!


Become The Best of Yourself
1. Find a role model

2. Be inspired… and not just for one day either.  Being dependent on external forces to motivate is only going to hurt you when things get really tough. You need to find that internal motivation!

3. Learn from and copy from the leaders out there, from your role models.

4. That is when you develop yourself. You will develop your own style by taking what you’ve learned and using it for yourself.


So You’re Driving Traffic But Still Not Making Money?

Why?

What’s missing?

Did I mess up on copy or the headline?

Are there tech issues?

Well guess what?  It doesn’t matter.

If you have developed a solid mindset and increased your value enough, then the worrying doesn’t matter because it’s about learning the attraction factor.

As a result, your lead conversion will increase.


Remember The Magic Formula:

• Build a list
• Build a relationship with your list
• Monetize your list

If you’re not converting traffic then go out and learn what you can do to increase your conversions.  Try following the leaders and pay attention to what they’re doing.  Most of the leaders hold their own webinars and use multiple capture pages.

Envision who you want to become. You will develop your own unique style.

The entire equation is not complete until you’ve developed yourself.

Now, while this is NOT the 1800′s and you’re not really looking for gold – that is exactly what’s happening currently in this industry.

People are jumping into online network marketing in droves, looking for that elusive path to fortune and prosperity.

Mindset for Success – Even When You Lose Your Internet

I know that I’ve talked to you all about Mindset before.  Specifically one of my blog posts about Mindset for Success in 2010.

See, I have wireless internet – which has been very reliable for me, but today we are having a typical springtime wind storm that usually hits the area this time of year, and I have a sneaky suspicion that the wind knocked out one of the local towers.

Anyways, as I type out this post, I currently have no internet connection.  So I’m writing it out on “Word” and will copy it over to my blog once my internet is back up.

Immediately, I’m reminded about mindset and that even though my internet is down right now, I’m not going to let it keep me from at least writing out my post.

I can always post it up into WordPress once the internet is back up.

Mindset From An Unlikely Source

Maybe I’m listening for it more, or maybe it’s that my mind is looking for other topics on mindset where ever they may pop up, or maybe it’s God speaking to me.

I don’t have a definitive answer – at least not yet.

But yesterday in church, our pastor was discussing with us the how God ALWAYS finishes what he starts.  No matter the situation, he finishes what he starts.

He never starts a task and then decides half way through that “Eh…well, that life is good enough, I’ll just leave it to be.”

He began his life here on Earth with the birth of Jesus Christ and finished it with his crucifixion and resurrection – this week actually as it is Easter coming up on Sunday.

So It Got Me Thinking…

“This can easily apply to network marketers.  How many of us start with a company or a system, and never see it through until the job is complete?”  We get burnt by it, it was too hard, it doesn’t work, the products suck, etc., etc., etc.

So I decided, “What a great topic for my next blog post!”

So, what is it we need to do to get to that point?

What do we need to do so that we can finish something that we start – and finish it well?
Maybe in high school you were on the track team, and didn’t break into varsity ranks, so you give up.

But why?

If there is one thing that I have learned through the years and hope to pass on to my own children, is that if you start something, you need to finish it, and finish it well.

Don’t do it half way and give up.  Be committed!

Play All In

This is where your mindset heavily comes into play.

If you have kids that are old enough to understand, how do you feel when they start a project or a task, and then give up half way through?

Are you disappointed?  Do you try and set them straight and remind them to finish what they start?

No matter your answer, the same rule should apply to you as well.

Why should you have a different set of rules and mindset from your kids?

Why should you have any different mindset than what God has, and wants for us as well?

Mindset is the key to all of this.  When you start something, you should finish it, and finish it well.

That relates to you and your primary business, any sales funnel system that you’re in, or any other venture or task.

Think about yourself and your primary business and whether or not you’ve finished it, and finished it well…

…Even if you’re in the middle of a windstorm and have no internet.

Dumb Luck

When you take a look at those that have had success, many people – me included – simply think that the success they have had is the end result of some grand plan.

For some folks, it’s simply dumb luck.

All I’m saying is that when you look at your blog and compare it to someone else’s blog, keep in mind that there are a lot of variables that go into that “success.”

The Secret Ingredient To Creating a Successful Blog

Isn’t it easier if someone else has the answer instead of looking for the answer yourself?

You bet it is!

We want other people to have the answers.  We want someone who’s already poured out their hard work and efforts to have come up with the answers for us.

We want someone who will shorten our learning curve.

As people, we also like to give authority and credibility to other people.

Sometimes it will create a brilliant coach or mentor who is worth every penny.

I have no doubt that if I had hired Jim Rohn and I had a plan, he would have helped me execute it.

But on the flip-side,  sometimes our need for answers spawns a “guru” who is only looking out for himself and would rather get to know our wallet instead of us.

Which finally leads me to why you’re reading this blog post in the first place…

So What Should We Do To Create a Better Blog?

Here’s how I see things:

First, if you run across a guru who says “I can teach you to love writing blog posts,” or “I can help you to write like a professional,” then there is only one quick and decisive move -  a perfectly timed throat-strike – and then run like you’ve been shot out of a cannon.

Look, it’s great and ADVISABLE to get help when you need it.  But if you’re expecting someone to do all of the thinking and hard work for you – you’re better off sticking with your day J-O-B and forget about it.

In conjunction, anyone that tells you that they will do all that you’re EXPECTANTLY looking for – they’re blowing smoke up your….um, backside.

Second, and most important, no matter how much advice you seek or get along the way, there is really only one secret ingredient to a successful blog recipe.

And that secret ingredient is you.

You’re the one who determines the content, the posting schedule, the flow, the information, and of course the marketing of your blog posts.

You are the secret ingredient that you’ve been looking for this entire time.

You are the one who is solely responsible.  Not your mentor, not your mastermind group, not your business partners.

You and only you.

Designing The Best 10 Years

I read the above quote the other day and I immediately flashed back to an 8-week online course I took at the beginning of  the new year.

It was run by Darren Hardy, the publisher of “Success” magazine.  The course was called “Designing The Best 10 Years of Your Life.”  Over an 8-week period, Darren took us from simply writing down our goals, dreams, etc., to creating a personal mission statement, core values, and a functioning business plan – not for our companies – but for ourselves!

This was a thought provoking course and made us all look deep into our very own core – about who we are, what we believe, and what we want to become.

Mission Objective

As I mentioned above, in one of the lessons, we  had to create a personal mission statement.

At first I was a bit daunted by this task.

I had seen company mission statements in the past and I had NO CLUE as to how to apply it to myself and my internet business.

I mean, where do you even start?

This will define not only myself in life, but what I stand for as a person in my business.

My own mission statement?  Wow…that’s huge!

“Worksheet No. 5 – Mission”

Thanks to Darren’s “Worksheet No. 5″ I found some help.

I wonder if you’ve ever thought of  a mission statement in this way before:

“A personal mission statement provides clarity and gives you a sense of purpose.  It defines who you are and how you will live.    Your mission statement should be able to guide your actions, spell out your overall goals, provide a sense of direction and guide decision making.”

Seems simple right?

Actually it was really simple.  I found it amazingly simple actually.

I assume it was a lot easier doing it for myself rather than it would be for an entire corporation.

Let’s see what I was able to come up with shall we?

My Mission Statement

To Live each day knowing that God is by my side, with faith, honesty, Love for others, and standing up for what I believe.  I will do this so that my wife, children, family, and friends will know that is not only who I am, but what is important in life.

I will do this by speaking openly about my love for God, and his son, Jesus, and that they will provide what is necessary for me & my business; faith in my abilities to be an outstanding marketer and leader in internet marketing; speaking and acting honestly to family, friends, and fellow internet marketers; Love for my fellow brothers & sisters – regardless of color, race, economic status, religion, or beliefs; standing up for what I have written here; being a loving and available husband & father; being a giving philanthropist with my earnings; making a positive difference in peoples lives; continuing to educate myself; and of course – simply having fun!

So…there you go.  That’s me and my business in a nutshell – (take it or leave it – wink, wink).

Some Things To Keep In Mind

As time goes by, you mission statement will evolve with you – simply as you evolve.

It is a good thing to look back annually and determine if it still echoes your values, goals, and outcomes.

You will be able to adjust your mission statement to those points that are our values, goals, and outcomes.

What About You?

So now that I’ve opened and told you my mission statement, it’s only fair that I ask you if you have one.

My intent with this post is to speak from the heart.

This post is not meant to garner a lot of traffic, or a lot of hits on google, and I focused on absolutely NO keywords here.

It is just my thoughts on a page for you to understand how I think attraction marketing should work.

Have you thought about it?  What does attraction marketing mean to YOU?

Seriously – have you really thought about it?

And I mean specifically to YOU – not what your upline taught you, not what you read about in some article, not what you saw on someone else’s profile on Facebook on what THEY thought attraction marketing meant to them.

This last week I’ve taken some time to do some reading and reflecting on my own life and business.

Now, I originally I hesitated to even mention this because it would scare some people off, and I will probably even catch some flack for posting this – but I’m o.k. with that, because the message here is bigger than that.  And that is why I decided to keep writing and posting what I feel is necessary.

The last 4 Sundays in church, we have discussed a topic called “Just Walk Across The Room.”  Not going into too many details, the basics are that when you encounter someone that is asking about God, Jesus, Heaven, the Holy Spirit – you simply provide them an ear to listen to their questions and comments, and are receptive to your inner voice saying “This person needs you to listen and interact,” or “Be a friend, not a religious converter.”

It’s NOT about pitching a sermon on them, preaching to them about religion, or dropping a bible in their lap and telling them to read it so they will join your church.  WOW – talk about scaring someone away!!

As the lessons continued over the last few weeks, we discovered that as time goes by, those people will learn to see you for who you are as someone who cares, is a “REAL” person, is willing to listen, is NOT pushy, is not religious, or a bible thumper.  And in turn, they will start asking more questions and dig deeper into who they are and what they really want from you  – because they see your love for them shine through.

The final lesson this week talked about the “Big Picture” of Just Walk Across The Room and it was GLARING at me from the video screen.  The #1 Priority for ANYONE – no matter their religion, skin color, age, gender, nationality, etc. – should always be people, and more specifically relationships with people.

It REALLY is the #1 key to life – people and your relationships with them – period!

So isn’t that exactly the same thing we as network marketers should be doing?  Working on our relationships with people?

Stop our pitching and spamming,  stop our “Great New MLM Start up – Join Now” messages, stop hitting up friends and family to join us in our businesses, stop throwing comp plans and testimonials in their faces!

Isn’t that the same thing as what a judgemental, “hollier-than-thou,” religiously pious person would do?

How would that make you feel if someone came to you and was preaching and screaming about the bible to your face?

Have you stopped to think that maybe that’s what you’re doing with your MLM business?

One Final Piece

So at the beginning of this post, I told you that I had read a book.  That book is called “The Shack”.  If you haven’t read it yet, don’t worry, I won’t pitch it in your face.  But I will say that it is something that have found to not only be important, but has completely changed my life, turned it upside down, and inside out – but in good way.

I don’t want to give anything away if you haven’t read it yet, and plan on reading it.  So I will keep this simple.  It is not religious, but it is about a relationship with God.  Throughout this book our main character re-establishes his relationship with God is a VERY unique and thought provoking way.  Nothing I would have EVER expected.

Personally, I find it to be honest, filling, and what I believe as God speaking thorough the author.  On a basic level, I find it being JUST what I needed in my life to answer some of my own questions.  But that is me.  You may get something COMPLETELY different from it.

What Do You Want In Return?

The key point of what I am trying to make here is that God wants us to not only have a close relationship with Him, but with everyone else as well.  You, me, him, her, them, they, us.  And the best way to do that is with love.  Love without a plan!!  No agenda, no goal, no motive, no conditions.  Simply love.

Couldn’t that possibly be the answer to all of this?  Couldn’t this be the ultimate in attraction marketing?  Loving human kind with no expectancies in return?

Again, I state the quote from the top of this post:

“We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are always there for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.”

I know that I will most likely catch some flack for this – but you know what – I took a vow to be honest, forthcoming, and stick to my core values starting this year and moving forward.  And so far, I think I’ve done a good job with it.

It is not my intention to hurt anyone with this post, but rather bring some light to something that I see HARDLY ANYONE else talking about in this industry – and is dear to my heart.

This is how I view attraction marketing.  This is what I have determined that it means to me.

I’m sure I don’t have to ask given how we “shouldn’t mix business and God”, but I welcome your thoughts and comments here on this post because I think it’s a topic worth discussing and bringing to light.  Lets see how far this goes!

So yesterday I posted The Difference Between Those That Succeed, and Those That Fail. In the post, I mentioned how Mike Dillard went and screwed things all up for me.

But really it wasn’t that bad, and here’s why…

Yesterday, I had my post all planned out and almost ready to submit when I took a break.  I came back and checked my e-mail to see a new message from Mike and his new launch of  “Alpha Networker.”

So I looked at it closer (knowing where he was leading because of all the talk about “Alpha’s” in Magnetic Sponsoring) and I knew this was something I DEFINITELY wanted to let you all know about because JUST like the Magnetic Sponsoring course, this is one of those “musts” you need to have in your library.

Then I realized “wait a second,  I was just writing a blog post about mindset – now I need to add a blurb about Mike’s new video training since the two topics coincide.”   So I added it in, took a look at it, and well…it was WAY too long of a post.  Like WAAAAAAAAAY too long.

So I split the post into two, rewrote yesterdays post to *hint* about todays post, and now, here I am writing todays post as a follow-up to yesterday.

Anyways, the basics of “Alpha Networker” goes like this:  Remember Mike talking about Beta and Alpha networkers in Magnetic Sponsoring?  Well in Alpha Networker, he goes into WAY more detail, psychology, training, and development.

See, when we’re born, we’re all  Betas, but somewhere along the way, some of us decide and learn to become alphas.

As we move through this industry, there is an inner shift that occurs.  A difference in Mindset that switches us from being a Beta and turns us into an Alpha.

As Mike says on the main page – “Unleash the Alpha within you.  Only leaders make money in network marketing…Here’s how to become one.”

So, after all of that, thanks for Screwing up yesterdays blog post Mike.  I’m off to go become an Alpha Networker now because this industry needs some more of them.

I had this blog post all planned out – perfect and ready to publish – and then Mike Dillard comes by and screws thingsall up for me.

Jeez, the nerve!

Well, before I go off on Mike in tomorrow’s post (actually I LOVE how he came and screwed things up because it ads some more value to what I am about to tell you), let me explain what I was going to write about before Mike came by.

When you take a look at network marketers as a group, there are two obvious groups that appear – those that succeed and those that fail.

The sad thing is that the percentage of those that fail is HUGE compared to those that succeed.  Depending on the figures you refer to, anywhere from 95%-97% of network markers are failing in their business.

This leaves a mere 3-4% of network marketers that succeed in their businesses.

I know – a stark difference!

Further, you can take a look at any one MLM company, and see the same thing – those that fail and those that succeed.  And the percentages are roughly the same.

How can that be?  If you have the same company, the same products, the same training, the same resources, and the same leadership at your fingertips, what is the reason for the difference?

Well it comes down to a simple 1 word answer and 1 answer only…

…Mindset.  And more specifically Mindset for Success.

Mindset is the foundation that your business is built on.  You can’t go out and build a house without a foundation, so why would you want to do the same with your business?

Mindset is the power in your mind that separates those that succeed from those that fail.

Mindset is simply doing the things that others won’t do – making decisions, creating habits, and sticking to your decisions.

Mindset is creating a list of goals.  Actually writing them down on a piece of paper and posting it where it’s visible for you to read all the time – not placing them in a binder on your book shelf.

Mindset is creating a vision board with clippings of all of the visualizations you want in life – your house, your car, your backyard, your home office, your hobbies, your dream vacations, the lake house in the woods, the school you want your kids to go to, etc.

Mindset is already living in a mindset of prosperity and wealth.  Emitting those feelings of gratitude and thankfulness for what you will be achieving.

Mindset is making decisions in your life based NOT on where you are…but where you WANT to be in your life

Tomorrow, I’m going to breakdown how it is that Mike Dillard screwed this post all up for me.
