O.k. – the reason for this post is two fold. I know that some people have no idea what Onlywire.com is and how it should be used. So, to have a much easier place to send my team and other readers to, I decided that creating a post and quick tutorial on it’s specific use would come in handy for the future.
So here’s the plan guys:
- First off, I’m going to break you off a little Onlywire review, but the real proof is going to be in the tutorial video above here.
- I have people coming to me wanting to know about the Onlywire.com plugin and asking how to set-up the Onlywire WordPress plugin, so I am going to go into that also!
Seat belts buckled?
Why? This isn’t going to be a bumpy ride, jeez…..
O.k., so if you have absolutely NO idea what Onlywire.com is, it is an all-in-one social bookmarker that will get all of your social bookmarking done in one press of the button – literally. It will send your content link to 31 different social bookmarking sites. All ofthe big ones like Digg, Delicious, Mixx, Twitter, Facebook and the smaller ones as well.
Now, there are 2 ways to use it – both of which I use RELIGIOUSLY.
You can download the Onlywire Firefox plugin which will sit in the upper right hand corner of your browser next to the Google search bar. So when you are on your blog post and want to upload it to Onlywire.com, you would just hit the Onlywire button to sign-in and then bookmark the site you are visiting.
Next is the Onlywire WordPress plug-in for your WordPress blog. I will be talking about this in the video above as well, but basically you Search for the “Onlywire” plug-in from your Plug-in tab in the WordPress back office, and just click install once it comes up.
This will simply give you a shortcut to the Onlywire plug-in directly on your blog post not only for you, but for your readers as well. So if they don’t have the Onlywire Firefox plugin, you just provided one for them on your blog post directly. Easy pleasy right?
Now, if you’ve been paying attention to any of my posts in the last few weeks, you’ll remember how I have been emphasizing backlinks and how important they are to your ranking on the search engines.
Well guess what…you just got 31 different backlinks my friend. It’s all thanks to this automated social bookmarking we now know as Onlywire.
Make sure to check out the Onlywire Firefox plugin and Onlywire WordPress plugin AFTER you watch my video at the top.
Afterwards, tell me what successes you’ve had with the Onlywire wordpress plugin or the Onlywire Firefox plugin. I’ll be sure to comment back as well. have you noticed that I reply to all of my blog comments? If not, come back for a visit and check them out! You may be suprised at what other tid-bits you get from my readers.

John,
Thanks for the hit on Onlywire my friend. I appreciate the love. I try and keep an eye out for other peoples blogs that have the connection as well. If not, I use the Onlywire Firefox plug-in at the top of my Firefox browser.
Reciprocating the social bookmarking will only pay off in the end.

Hey Linus,
Once again I didn’t learn a damn thing from your post! Just kidding, absolutely the EXACT opposite.
Very valuable info! I need that firefox plugin since my onlywire plugin for wordpress won’t install properly…
Your alexa rank has dropped considerably…You’re right on my tale! I need to stop slacking. Haha

Yo,
If you didn’t learn anything, that just means that there is more for others to use
But regarding the firefox plug in, just go to the Onlywire.com site, access your account, and double check that each social bookmark account has your username info. Inside that same area you will find the link to the Firefox Onlywire plugin.

Bert,
No worries brother. Glad that others are getting some results and work from it.
I actually had to go in after I first set it up and re-read the set-up process because I missed a step and found that my submissions were not being allowed.
So make sure and double check that you are receiving messages form Onlywire regarding your submissions.

[...] Onlywire For WordPress – A few weeks ago I did a post on this plug-in and it’s enormous social bookmarking power. I’ll simply refer you to it now: Onlywire Plugin Review [...]
One question if I have the twitter, facebook, linked-in pluggins for my word press blog is the only wire plugin going to place duplicate content on those sites. Do I need to deactivate the other plugins I have already in place in wordpress
Thanks

Jed,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
If you already have those plugins in place and then Onlywire as well, yes you will get duplicate content.
The cool thing about Onlywire is that you can select which accounts you want to submit content to. When you set up onlywire, you select each profile independently – FAcebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
So no, you should not have to deactivate the other plugins.
Hope that helps!

Hi linus, thanks for the excellent review, I have found it really helpful and have recommended it to my friends.
I am hoping you could help me with a problem I’m having with the plugin,
is there a way of disabling the bookmark button on certain pages? I would ideally like to have the button on my posts and not on my pages. All though it would be handy if I could put the button on some of my pages.
I have submitted a ticket to OnlyWire and not had any response yet.
Any advice would be strongly appreciated.
King regards
Ryan
