Who Is Linus Ruzicka?

Surgical RN Turned Entrepreneur – Helping Others Turn Their Businesses into Financial Freedom!

The Difference Between Those That Succeed, and Those That Fail…

Posted by Linus Ruzicka On January - 28 - 2010

I had this blog post all planned out – perfect and ready to publish – and then Mike Dillard comes by and screws thingsall up for me.

Jeez, the nerve!

Well, before I go off on Mike in tomorrow’s post (actually I LOVE how he came and screwed things up because it ads some more value to what I am about to tell you), let me explain what I was going to write about before Mike came by.

When you take a look at network marketers as a group, there are two obvious groups that appear – those that succeed and those that fail.

The sad thing is that the percentage of those that fail is HUGE compared to those that succeed.  Depending on the figures you refer to, anywhere from 95%-97% of network markers are failing in their business.

This leaves a mere 3-4% of network marketers that succeed in their businesses.

I know – a stark difference!

Further, you can take a look at any one MLM company, and see the same thing – those that fail and those that succeed.  And the percentages are roughly the same.

How can that be?  If you have the same company, the same products, the same training, the same resources, and the same leadership at your fingertips, what is the reason for the difference?

Well it comes down to a simple 1 word answer and 1 answer only…

…Mindset.  And more specifically Mindset for Success.

Mindset is the foundation that your business is built on.  You can’t go out and build a house without a foundation, so why would you want to do the same with your business?

Mindset is the power in your mind that separates those that succeed from those that fail.

Mindset is simply doing the things that others won’t do – making decisions, creating habits, and sticking to your decisions.

Mindset is creating a list of goals.  Actually writing them down on a piece of paper and posting it where it’s visible for you to read all the time – not placing them in a binder on your book shelf.

Mindset is creating a vision board with clippings of all of the visualizations you want in life – your house, your car, your backyard, your home office, your hobbies, your dream vacations, the lake house in the woods, the school you want your kids to go to, etc.

Mindset is already living in a mindset of prosperity and wealth.  Emitting those feelings of gratitude and thankfulness for what you will be achieving.

Mindset is making decisions in your life based NOT on where you are…but where you WANT to be in your life

Tomorrow, I’m going to breakdown how it is that Mike Dillard screwed this post all up for me.

But in the mean time, here is the recording of the exact Mindset for Success in 2010 webinar I did for my own team with our Personal Mastermind back at the beginning of January.  If it doesn’t show up for you, you can visit here: http://www.linusruzicka.com/mindset-for-success-in-2010

At first I kept the recording just to my Private team, but I decided it’s value is far to important to keep it under wraps. So I am making it available to you here on my blog.

  1. Hey Linus

Mike Dillard has a way of screwing things up (ha) or changing the play of the game.

You are so right though. A successful mind-set is what separates the 3%ers from the 97%ers. What amazes me is no matter how many times this has been said and will continue to be said, only 3% of the people will actually act on it!

    Great post.

    Dwayne

  2. Debbie says:

Wow!!Thanks! I really needed this today. It really is about mindset. It’s always there but we do need to hear it regularly, sometimes we need a little push to realize the power of our mindset. I’m going to the mirror now. Thank you Linus!

  3. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Dwayne,

No kidding. As overused as the saying is “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” In this case alone, it certainly applies. There will always be that 97% that don’t see it – but that is why we keep posting, providing content, and show examples of how you can get it done – either with a foundation, strategies, tactics, or training.

btw – Kurt Hennager won the publicity contest.

  4. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Debbie,

Isn’t it great to hear it? I love just listening to people like Jim Rohn in the morning or right before bed. Even just small moments to get our minds in the right spot. I initially did this webinar training to provide a mindset for “the bigger picture” – but even just a little bit goes a long way.

    Thanks for commenting!

    Linus great info.

I agree Mindset is a key element here’s a quote from a fellow networker “Mindset Is Your Foundation. If You Don’t Have The Proper Mindset Whatever You Build On That Improper Foundation Will Be Just As Bad.If You Start With Rotten Eggs, No Amount Of Spices Or Cooking Time Is Going To Make Them Taste Good. The Same Goes For Your Business”lol love it…

  7. Yo Le says:

    Hey Linus,

I’m assuming you are referring to Dillard screwing things up by coming out with Alpha Networker? Did you pick it up yet? I did and would like to hear what people think of it so far.

I’ve only watched the intro video so far…but Mike always delivers so there’s no doubt in my mind it is going to be great stuff.

    Linus,

Thanks! Mindset is a daily battle, at least for me. The more I surround myself with other positive people the easier the battle becomes.

  9. Zack Covell says:

MINDSET is a personal thing…others around us can influence us IF WE are yearning for more for ourselves. Linus, this post is excellent for a couple of reasons. First, the Law of Attraction is what I kept thinking of when you wrote about attracting a mindset of prosperity. Second, commitment can be scary when we venture online and try to introduce ourselves to the world.

Great article! Thanks for the encouragement for my Friday…

  10. Cassie Strom says:

Mindset is so Crucial indeed :)
Great post Linus … Have you ever tried listening to your motivational stuff with one of those speaker pillow?? :)

  11. Bob Howard says:

Mindset is the biggest obstacle for me personally and will drive you to want to quite because I have been there many times. When you finally break through and begin to get things that you have heard all along but did not really understand you are reassured that you are overcoming what has been holding you back. It is just yourself.

    Good article. Keep it up.

    Bob

  12. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Carlos,

In so many different ways it says the same basic concept – you need mindset as this foundation.

Ask any of the 5 & 6 figure income earners what was their KEY, and they will ALL tell you mindset.

That is the main reason I decided to create this webinar, and then write about it in a blog post. Other people need to see it and understand how important it is, just like you. I know you have done your own personal training and are reaping the benefits because of it.

    Thanks for stopping by Carlos!

    ~ Linus

  13. Linus Ruzicka says:

Yeah – I have the Alpha networker. Picked it up right after I wrote the blog post about it.

Like you, I have been working on getting some time to sit and watch the videos. It is one of my goals this weekend.

But the little that I have seen so far is quite unique and is already leaving an effect on me.

    ~ Linus

  14. Linus Ruzicka says:

Funny how that starts to get contagious isn’t it?

There is something to be said for the fact that the 5 people you most surround yourself with will have the greatest effect on you. The same can be said on a much larger picture.

  15. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Zack,

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

You know, I think there is A LOT of parts that play into mindset. And Mind you, I think I only scratched the surface with this webinar. However, as I was saying, you have the law of attraction, you have visualizations, you have daydreaming, you have audio input, you have visual input all playing a part. When we look at all of them as a whole, it is something that can affect each of us on a personal level.

I heard Jim Rohn say once that mindset can be broken into 3 steps:
    1. Create a dream/goal to accomplish.
    2. Believe that you can accomplish that goal.
    3. Go out and WORK on it to make it happen. (Only you can do this – on one else)

    ~ Linus

  16. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Cassie,

LOL…no speaker pillows yet. That night I was up late though getting stuff done. I loved doing that webinar and I motivated myself – i just hope that others got the same message. (judging the comments that are coming through – I think that is the case)

    ~ Linus

  17. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Bob,

Mindset is something for me to focus on this year – without a doubt. Yes, the desire to quit will creep over you. Yes, the desire to just crawl away and fall back into the crowd will be present. The desire to pull your head back in and finish sticking your neck out will infect your mind. And that is one of the main reasons I did this webinar.

This was more than about me – this was for my team, my mastermind, and others to use and motivate themselves as well.

Thanks for stopping by to comment and engage in the comments.

    ~ Linus

  18. It all really comes down to making a clear decision that you are going to be successful, no matter what. When you are facing obsticles in your business they are really just stepping stones to building charactor and getting you closer to where you need to be.

I spend EVERY night listening to the masterminds of this industry and honestly, I try to get to bed a little earlier every night just so that I can have that inspiration going into my mind.

    -J

  19. Linus,
I agree with you, it is all about mindset or attitude. Two people can look at the same things and come away with completely different interpretation. It is important to remember we have a choice about what we are going to think and feel. Everyday… I have a choice about that day!!!

    Thanks for all you do,

    Peace….
    Kathy

  20. Bert says:

    You Rock Linus,

I feel fortunate to be in your team and had initial access to your “mindset webinar”. Now I know the “masses” will really get a lot of value from it as well.

You deliver the goods my man. Glad to teaming with you.

    Cheers,

    ~Bert

  21. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Jeff,

What you said there at the very end is a great tip. Whether it’s via CD, mp3, or jsut your computer stereos, getting that mindset into your brain will only motivate you and sink in that much faster.

Great tip Jeff – thanks for posting it!

    ~ Linus

  22. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Kathy,

One of the best quotes I’ve ever read applies to this and so many different things we in the free world get to experience each day – but especially those not tied down by a J-O-B goes like this: “True Freedom is Waking Up wach morning and deciding for yourself what you are going to do for the day.”

I’ve loved that from day 1!

    ~ Linus

  23. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Bert,

Thank you very much brother! Thank you.

I jsut hope that others are able to take a simple 45 minutes out of their marketing to sit and listen to it. Not that I am ANY guru on mindset – however, I think it is one to use for daily motivation and keeping the long term goals and visions in focus.

How is Darren Hardy working for you?

    ~ Linus

  24. Bill says:

    Hey Linus,
Excellent man. You keep hitting the points dead on. Too bad MOST of the people in this industry continue to miss the point. Changing the mindset is very hard for most people because they keep listening to the people around them instead of finding people to help them breakout.

Keep pushing the thought changes. It’s all about one person at a time. ;)

    To Your Continued Success,
    Bill

  25. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Palte,

Thanks brother. It really is one person at a time. My only hope with each blog post I make is that I make a difference for just one person.

    It’s all about the mindset!

    ~ Linus

  26. Nathan McClure says:

Linus great point. Just like the great Bobby Jones said, “Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course…the space between your ears.” well business is the game being played.

    Nathan McClure

  27. Linus Ruzicka says:

    Nathan,

Great analogy. Such a small area to focus on, but yet the amount of time we overlook it, the far worse we are for it.

    ~ Linus
